Ripal: from warehouse to customer portal, connected to the ERP

For Ripal, a trading company and manufacturer of wooden pallets, we built a platform because the shop floor recorded its work on paper and the office had to enter that data again. The environment connects the back office, partner portal, warehouse app, scanner and driver links to the existing ERP. The shop floor now records work where it happens, and customers follow their order status in the portal.

The story

What we built.En waarom zo.

01

The challenge

The existing ERP held the company data, but was a poor fit for the work in the warehouse. Staff recorded their work on paper and the office entered that information again later. As a result, the records lagged behind what was happening on the floor.

Requests came in by email and phone, transport information sat in separate overviews and CMR documents stayed on paper. Partners and drivers also needed information, but not the full office environment. The challenge was to give each group access to its own work, with the existing ERP as the central source.

02

Our approach

We built secured entry points on a shared foundation. The back office brings together warehouse work, repairs, transport information, CMR documents and the fleet. The partner portal handles notifications, returns and trailer swap requests. The customer portal also gives customers access to their order history and order status.

On the shop floor, staff use a warehouse app on a tablet and a scanner. Both keep working when the network drops and sync once the connection is back. When unloading, each registration is linked to the warehouse zone. The sorting flow lets the team split mixed batches by pallet type and record the sorting work. That way, input feeds straight into day-to-day inventory management.

CMR documents can be uploaded and scanned from a photo, so the information becomes available digitally. Drivers get a secured link with the information for their own trip. The fleet trackers appear on a map showing each vehicle's day. That gives logistics the building blocks for custom transport planning. The new dispatch board is still in testing.

The platform reads data from the existing ERP and writes data back. The two-way integration connects the shop floor environment to the business system. That coherence is the starting point of custom ERP: input and screens follow the work, while the data stays connected.

03

The result

The shop floor records work directly in its own environment, even when the network is temporarily down. The office receives that data through the same foundation, and partners and drivers use an entry point tailored to their role. Customers can follow their order status themselves in the portal, which has been live since September 2026.

Transport documents have a digital home and the fleet map shows the position and daily route of each vehicle. The existing ERP stays connected to day-to-day operations. Further development happens step by step, with the new dispatch board still in testing.
