Work in the field
A custom work order app.Record work, even without a network.
A custom work order app lets your team record the work done on a phone or tablet. You decide which steps and integrations are needed. With offline input, the office receives the data after syncing as soon as there is a connection.
Sound familiar?
Where does a work order get stuck?Between the field and the office.
The work is done. The paperwork is not.
Paper in the van
The work order is filled in on the road and typed in again at the office days later.
Illegible or lost
Handwriting nobody can decipher, or a form that never comes back.
Invoicing waits
Until the work order is in, the invoice does not go out.
No signal on site
An app that only works with a network lets you down in a basement or on a building site.

What is inside
What is in a custom work order app? From job to recorded work.
Custom field service software: everything your technicians need in the field, in one app.
Hours, materials and notes on the spot, with big buttons that also work with gloves on.
Making the choice
A work order package or your own app?
Work order package
A package can be enough if the available work order, planning and permissions fit your work. Test the full flow with a real type of job, including when the connection drops.
Your own app
Do you need your own checks, different steps or integrations with existing systems? Then we look at whether an extension, an integration or a custom app fits better. You do not have to replace your entire maintenance operation straight away.
Agree what information the office needs, when a work order is complete and who checks it. Also have a look at software for installation companies if planning and maintenance come into scope.
Proof, not promises
Recording work on location. With examples from practice.
Offline input at Ripal: Ripal's warehouse app and scanner support input without a network and sync when the connection is back. That is a different shop-floor process from a technical service call.
In practice
How we did it at IBS
For IBS we built a first mobile work order for technical interventions. The version in testing combines work registration, the customer's signature and a PDF. Preventive maintenance and a customer login are also part of that scoped version. Production use has not yet been confirmed.

Questions
What clients ask us.About working offline, signatures and invoicing.
Largely. Field service software is the broader term for everything around work on location: planning, jobs, work orders, materials and follow-up. A custom work order app is the part your technicians have in their hands every day, and we extend it with planning or inventory when needed. For installers, we bundle that in software for installation companies.
A digital work order records the work done on a phone or tablet. Which fields, documents and sign-off you need, we decide based on your process. With offline input, the office receives the data after syncing as soon as there is a connection.
If offline working is needed, we include it in the scope. Your team can then record data on the device without a connection. The office receives that data after syncing as soon as the connection is back. At IBS, offline work registration is part of the first version in testing.
An on-screen signature can be part of the work order flow. At IBS, the customer's signature is included in the first version in testing, together with work registration and a PDF.
Attendance registration on large building sites goes through Checkin@Work from the Belgian social security office (RSZ/ONSS). A work order app can exist alongside it or connect to it through the RSZ web services. The RSZ does not certify software, and the obligation stays with the employer. We look together at what your sites need.
That depends on what needs to go on the work order and which systems we connect to. We work per phase at a fixed price, so after each phase you decide whether we carry on.
